Canva Christmas Fonts: 27 Calligraphy, Serif, Cute and Bold Styles for Card Makers, Party Hosts and Holiday Shop Promos

Canva Christmas fonts decide how a holiday card, a party invitation or a December sale post feels before anyone reads a word. Canva’s own library has a handful of festive scripts, but the same ones appear on thousands of templates every season. Uploading your own Christmas font is the easiest way to make your designs look like yours.

This post contains affiliate links. If you buy through them, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

This list gathers 27 Christmas fonts you can upload to Canva, in four groups: Merry Christmas calligraphy for cards, decorative holiday serifs for invitations and menus, cute handwritten fonts for tags and posts, and bold display fonts and duos for banners and shirts. These are not Canva’s built-in fonts: uploading requires a paid Canva plan, explained below. Each note describes what the font looks like in its preview and where it works best.

All fonts in this list are on Creative Fabrica, and a single All Access subscription unlocks every one of them, so you can try several styles before committing to one.

Merry Christmas Calligraphy Fonts for Canva Cards

These scripts carry the classic Merry Christmas line on a card, a gift tag or the first slide of a holiday post. Most of them have long entry and exit strokes, so they look best on one or two words with room around them.

1. Christmas Script Font by airotype

Best For: Merry Christmas card fronts, gift tags, wine labels for hosts

A bouncy lowercase calligraphy with thick downstrokes and hairline joins. In the preview the c opens with a long swash that curls in from the left and the s closes with a curl of its own; the designer’s description confirms swirl swashes for the front and the back of words. The h and t rise tall above the other letters, which gives the word a lively, uneven rhythm.

Give it a full card front and one word, like Christmas or Noel, in white or gold on a deep red background as in the preview. In Canva, leave letter spacing at zero so the joins stay connected, and add a plain serif or sans underneath for the greeting.

2. Last Christmas Script Font by zulkhairilettering

Best For: Holiday card headers, Instagram story titles, cozy shop banners

A compact brush calligraphy that sits low and tight: the lowercase letters touch each other and the x-height is large next to the short ascenders. The preview shows its signature move, a long horizontal swash that runs out of the first and last letters like a ribbon under the whole word.

The wide swashes make it a natural fit for horizontal formats: a Canva story title, a banner strip or the top of a landscape card. Center it and leave empty space on both sides, otherwise the tails crash into frames and photos.

3. Santaria Font by Essentials Studio

Best For: Family name on Christmas cards, place cards, holiday dinner menus

A classic slanted calligraphy with strong thick-thin contrast. The capital S is the star of the preview, a tall letter with a loop at the top that leans over the lowercase, and the final a drops into a long underline swash. The lowercase stays fairly simple, so the word remains easy to read.

Use it for names: the family name on a photo card, guest names on place cards or the title of a holiday menu. In Canva, a capital with a big loop needs extra line height if you stack two lines, so raise it before the loop runs into the line above.

4. Moonchrist Holidays Font by Lettersweet

Best For: Formal Christmas cards, Christmas party invitations, chalkboard-style signs

A formal script with loops everywhere: the ascenders of h, l and d close into ovals, the capital M opens with a curl and the y in Holidays finishes with a long tail. The preview sets it in cream on dark teal and labels it a Christmas font with extras, decorated with leaves, hearts and small stars around the words.

This is the most ornate script in the group, so it needs size and a dark, plain background, exactly like the preview. On a Canva invitation, set the title in Moonchrist Holidays Font and keep the date and address in a simple sans so the page does not turn into a pattern.

5. Holiday Spice Font by kamilla.writes.letters

Best For: Recipe cards, cookie tags, minimal holiday posts

A thin monoline handwriting that looks written with a fine pen. The letters stand almost upright, keep their own space instead of joining into a long ribbon, and the y drops into a simple loop. Next to the calligraphy fonts above it reads calm and personal.

It works on small things: a recipe card for gingerbread, a tag on a jar of spiced sugar, a short quote on a Canva post. Because the stroke is thin, use it in dark ink on a light background or in cream on a dark photo, as in the preview, and avoid placing it over busy patterns.

6. Alitha Christmas Font by Letterafa Studio

Best For: Shop sale banners, kids’ Christmas cards, holiday stickers

A heavy brush script with round, friendly shapes: the capital C is almost a circle, the A and h have soft bowls and the strokes stay thick even in the joins. The preview sets it in deep green with a light offset shadow, which makes the words look like cut-out stickers.

Of all the scripts here, this one survives small sizes best, so try it on a Canva sale banner or a square post that will be seen on a phone. To recreate the sticker look, use a shadow effect in Canva with a pale color and a small offset.

7. Mistletoe Kisses Font by blushfontco

Best For: Pink Christmas posts, galentine holiday parties, cute gift tags

A tall, narrow marker script with an even stroke and a strong slant. The letters connect with rounded loops, the t crossbars are short and the capitals M and K stay close in height to the lowercase, so the whole word looks handwritten in a hurry with a felt pen.

The preview sets it in berry on soft pink, and that palette is a good start for a pink Christmas theme. In Canva it fits story text and tags better than big headlines: the narrow letters let you set a full phrase like Under the Mistletoe on one line.

Holiday Serif Fonts for Canva Invitations and Menus

Decorative serifs with curls and swashes are the second big family of Christmas lettering. They give an invitation or a menu a festive heading and still read clearly in all caps.

8. This Christmas Font by Dani (7NTypes)

Best For: Christmas party invitations, holiday market posters, title slides

A condensed decorative serif in capitals. The C curls inward at the top, the S finishes in a ball, and the preview runs a long swash under the second line like a ribbon. The letters in THIS change height, which makes the title look hand-built rather than typed.

Set the event name in This Christmas Font and let it fill the top third of a Canva invitation. The preview adds a two-tone red fill and small trees and bells around the words; inside Canva you will get the plain letters, so add the decoration with elements of your own.

9. Kind Christmas Font by Anto (7NTypes)

Best For: Elegant holiday cards, church Christmas programs, gift shop signs

An elegant serif in upper and lowercase with high contrast between thick and thin strokes. The K throws out a curled arm, the C ends in a ball and the preview hangs a long swash with ornaments under the word Christmas. Despite the curls, the lowercase stays very readable.

Because it has a real lowercase, it can set a full greeting: Wishing you a kind Christmas. In Canva, use it in deep red or dark green for a card or a printed program, and keep the body text in a plain serif in the same color.

10. Christmas Luster Font by Dani (7NTypes)

Best For: Vintage Christmas menus, cookie box labels, holiday bakery promos

A classic serif in capitals with spiral swashes on the C, the S and the L, and letters of slightly different heights. The preview gives each word a light offset outline, so the letters look printed on an old label, and colors the two lines in green and red.

Use it where a vintage label look fits: the header of a Christmas menu, a sticker for a cookie box, a bakery promo post. In Canva, an outline or splice effect in a lighter tone gets you close to the preview, but keep it to the headline.

11. Amour Christmas Font by Dani (7NTypes)

Best For: Romantic Christmas date nights, holiday weddings, boutique promos

A tall serif in capitals with swashes that curl off the A, M and R and a large curled C. Wedge serifs and the narrow build make it look refined, and the preview fills the letters with two shades of berry pink.

The pink palette and the name point to romantic projects: a Christmas date night invite, a winter wedding sign or a boutique holiday sale. On a Canva poster, give it a short word or two; long lines of swashy capitals tire the eye.

12. More Christmas Font by Sakti Avellin

Best For: Big headlines, holiday sale graphics, Christmas shirts

The heaviest of the decorative serifs here. Wide capitals end in spiral terminals, the M has curls at both feet, and the final S drops into a swash under the line. In coral on a pale background the preview looks playful rather than formal.

Weight is its advantage: More Christmas Font stays readable at small sizes and from a distance, so try it for a sale banner or a shirt design mocked up in Canva. Use it alone in one color; the curls already give enough decoration.

13. Merrisnow Font by OliviaFontCo

Best For: Rustic holiday signs, cabin-style invitations, winter markets

A serif in capitals with soft bracketed serifs and curled legs on the R. The preview shows it carved into a wooden sign in a snowy village scene, and the spacing between letters is generous, which suits signs and short titles.

Merrisnow Font is a good fit for rustic designs: a Christmas market poster, a cabin-style party invitation or a sign for a holiday stand. In Canva, set it in cream on a dark wood or forest photo and leave the letter spacing open as in the preview.

14. Classic Christmas Font by 29Graphic

Best For: Vintage posters, holiday event flyers, retro labels

A condensed, heavy serif in capitals with flared strokes and an A without a crossbar, which gives the words a vintage poster character. The preview sets CLASSIC in green and CHRISTMAS in red over a ribbon banner.

It is narrow, so it fits long titles in a small space: a flyer for a Christmas concert, a holiday fair poster, a label on a jar. In Canva, pair it with a script from this list for one accent word and keep everything else in Classic Christmas Font.

Cute Christmas Fonts for Canva Gift Tags and Posts

Rounded handwriting and bouncy letters suit everything that should feel warm and homemade: tags, kids’ cards, classroom printables and friendly social posts.

15. Hunky Christmas Font by Anto (7NTypes)

Best For: Gift tags, kids’ Christmas worksheets, cozy captions

A soft lowercase handwriting with rounded strokes and a slight bounce. The a is single-story, the k and h have tall stems and the letters keep a little air between them, so the words look neat and easy to read.

This is the most practical cute font in the list: it can set a whole sentence on a Canva post or a printable without getting messy. Use it in dark grey or brown, as in the preview, for text, and save the bolder cute fonts below for titles.

16. Handmade Christmas Font by Sakti Avellin

Best For: Classroom printables, kids’ party invitations, colorful posts

A bouncy handwriting that mixes capitals into lowercase words: in the preview, Handmade has a big a and e next to taller letters, and Christmas puts a capital R in the middle. The strokes are rounded and even, and every letter gets its own color.

For the multicolor look in Canva, select letters one by one and color them separately; it takes a minute and gives the effect from the preview. It suits teacher printables, kids’ invites and Christmas activity sheets.

17. Happy Christmas Font by anamalmusyaffaCreative

Best For: Kids’ holiday cards, cookie decorating parties, cheerful banners

A tall, narrow handwriting in mostly capitals with a light wobble, and a few lowercase letters tucked in, like the t in Christmas. The preview calls it a sweet Christmas sketch and sets it in red with a thin white outline.

The narrow letters let it set Happy Christmas on one line of a small card or tag. In Canva, an outline effect in white on a colored background gets close to the preview; on white, use it in red or green without effects.

18. Pinecone Font by TINY GRAPHIX

Best For: Farmhouse Christmas signs, stickers, winter shop posts

A thick marker handwriting with tall condensed letters and smaller e and o, so the word dances up and down. The preview wraps it in a wide white outline like a sticker over a winter barn scene.

Pinecone Font has the strongest sticker look in this group. In Canva, add an outline effect in white and a soft shadow, then place it over a photo; the thick stroke keeps it readable even over trees and snow.

19. Sprinkle Honey Font by Dreamink (7ntypes)

Best For: Cookie and bake sale promos, kids’ party signs, candy bar labels

A chunky bouncy font that mixes big and small letters, with the i in Sprinkle dotted by a small heart in the preview. The shapes are round and heavy, and the preview sets the two words in hot pink and bright yellow.

Its sweet look fits food: a bake sale banner, labels for a candy bar, a cookie exchange invite. In Canva, two bright colors per word, as in the preview, are enough; this font does not need effects.

20. Santa’s Candy Font by blushfontco

Best For: Candy cane themes, pink Christmas parties, kids’ gift tags

Tall, narrow capitals with rounded ends that lean slightly in different directions. The Y in Candy ends with a long curled tail, and the preview colors the letters in several shades of pink.

Santa’s Candy Font fits a pink or candy-cane Christmas: party invitations, treat bags, tags for kids’ gifts. In Canva, alternate two pinks letter by letter to recreate the preview.

21. Cozy Christmas Duo Font by AnningArts

Best For: Ugly sweater party invites, cozy holiday posts, kids’ cards

A duo of fat bubble capitals and a connected script. In the preview the bubble letters of COZY are filled with knit-sweater patterns of snowflakes and zigzags, and the pink script for christmas ends in a long swash.

The sweater pattern belongs to the preview artwork, so in Canva expect solid letters; fill them with colors and place a knit texture or elements behind them if you want the same mood. Use the bubble font for one word and the script under it, as in the preview.

Bold Christmas Fonts and Duos for Canva Banners and Shirts

Heavy display fonts carry a sale banner, a YouTube thumbnail or a shirt design from across the room. Several of them come as duos or are shown with a script partner in the preview.

22. Jellybean Christmas Font by Sakti Avellin

Best For: Holiday sale banners, Christmas shirts, kids’ event posters

Tall capitals on a bouncy baseline with playful details: the L curls into a hook, the Y swings a long tail and some letters, like the C, look split into two parts. The preview alternates red and green letters.

Use it for short loud headlines: Holiday Sale, Merry Christmas or a kid’s name on a shirt. In Canva, color the letters one by one in two colors as the preview does, and keep the rest of the design simple.

23. Snowy Christmas Font by Craft Artist

Best For: Shirt designs, holiday sale graphics, winter event posters

Heavy rounded capitals with a soft, chunky build. The preview shows them in two treatments: solid red for SNOWY and outlined green for CHRISTMAS, with a thin handwritten line running between the two words.

Thick strokes like these hold an outline well, so in Canva add an outline effect in white or a lighter green to repeat the preview. It is a good base for a Christmas shirt mockup or a bold sale tile.

24. Season Garland Font by TINY GRAPHIX

Best For: Colorful holiday posts, party invitations, shop announcements

A duo: the preview badge says 2 fonts. One is a fat rounded sans in capitals with a white outline and a different color for each letter, the other a black monoline script in lowercase, set right under the capitals.

The pair is ready to use: put the main word in the bold capitals and a softer word below in the script, exactly like SEASON garland in the preview. In Canva it makes a quick announcement post or a party invite title.

25. Naughty Holiday Font by Eystore

Best For: Retro Christmas shirts, holiday bar posters, vintage-style ads

The preview calls it a vintage script and textured display: a thick slanted brush script for Naughty, and bold condensed capitals with a worn, speckled texture for HOLIDAY.

The combination looks like an old advertising sign, so use it for retro designs: a shirt, a poster for a Christmas pub night, an ugly sweater party. On a dark background in Canva, as in the preview, the white textured capitals stand out best.

26. Delicious Christmas Font by Kik Design

Best For: Kids’ Christmas posters, cookie party invites, playful posts

A chunky, rounded font with a bouncy baseline. The preview decorates the letters with white dots and wavy snow caps, and sets the two words in red and teal inside a cloud-shaped frame with reindeer and sweaters.

The dots and snow caps are most likely part of the preview art rather than the letters, so plan solid shapes in Canva. The thick round letters work for a kids’ poster, a cookie decorating party invite or a holiday menu for children.

27. Loving Christmas Font by Blankids Studio

Best For: Soft modern Christmas cards, neutral holiday posts, home decor signs

Tall condensed capitals with rounded strokes, shown in sage green, with the word christmas written over them in a thin terracotta script. The muted palette makes it the calmest bold font in this group.

It suits neutral and boho Christmas designs: a card in sage and rust, a Canva post with a linen background, a print for a home wall. Overlap the words as the preview does, and in Canva lower the transparency of the capitals a little so the script stays readable on top.

Christmas Fonts in Canva: What Works

Holiday designs are seen fast: a card on a table, a post in a busy feed, a banner on a phone. A few habits help with every font in this list.

One decorative font per design. A swashy script or a curly serif is the star; the date, the address, the price and the link go in a plain serif or sans. Two decorative fonts on one card start to fight each other.

Scripts need space and zero letter spacing. Calligraphy fonts like Christmas Script Font, Last Christmas Script Font and Santaria Font connect letter to letter, and extra letter spacing in Canva breaks the joins. Leave room around the swashes so they do not run into frames and photos.

Pick weight for the size. On a phone-sized post or a small tag, heavy fonts like Alitha Christmas Font, More Christmas Font, Jellybean Christmas Font and Pinecone Font stay readable. Thin ones like Holiday Spice Font and Mistletoe Kisses Font need more size or a short text.

Rebuild the preview effects yourself. Two-tone fills, white sticker outlines, sweater patterns and textures in the previews are usually artwork, not part of the font. In Canva, outline and shadow effects, a separate color per letter and a background element get you close.

How to Upload These Fonts to Canva

According to Canva’s help center, you can upload your own fonts on Canva Pro, Teams, Business, Education and Nonprofits plans; on the free plan only Canva’s library is available. Canva accepts OTF, TTF and WOFF files and does not accept ZIP, EOT, SVG or WOFF2, so download the font from Creative Fabrica, unzip the folder and upload the .otf or .ttf file through your Brand Kit.

Canva does not support variable fonts, and bold or italic styles have to be uploaded as separate files. A Brand Kit holds up to 500 uploaded fonts, which is plenty for a whole season of Christmas designs. Upload only fonts you are licensed to use.

Duos like Cozy Christmas Duo Font and Season Garland Font come as two fonts, so upload both files to have the bold letters and the script side by side. The full step-by-step guide and fixes for fonts that refuse to upload are in the Canva fonts collection:

Where to Start

If you send cards, start with the calligraphy group: Christmas Script Font for a bold card front, Santaria Font for family names. If you host a Christmas party, This Christmas Font or Kind Christmas Font will carry the invitation, with Holiday Spice Font for the details. For a shop or a bake sale, the bold group is the fastest route to a banner that reads on a phone: Jellybean Christmas Font, Snowy Christmas Font or Season Garland Font.

Upload one font, build one design in Canva and see how it behaves at the sizes you actually use. Once one style works, add a partner from the combinations above.
